Hi there stampers.  I am glad to see you made it through yet another Monday!  Today’s card was a custom order for a friend.  She wanted a Thank You card for a guy who brings her fresh salmon.  Doesn’t that sound yummy?  She is so lucky!

Masculine Thank You card featuring fish swimming upstream by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I started with the Soft Sky card base and then I used the cloudy day embossing folder (it’s retired – but on the clearance rack for just $4.79).  Then I used two 5.5″ x 1.5″ strips of Pacific Point.  I used an edgelit, but you can also use the scallop edge punch.  I use made sure to use the negative side – so it looks like waves.  I then sponged those two pieces with Pacific Point, just to give the water a little more definition. I layerd them on the card – overlapping them some, but not all the way to give it depth. I then used a 5.5″ x 1/5″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and tore the edge and sponged it with Crumb Cake ink – to look like sand.  I tied a piece of linen thread and wrapped it around twice and tied a bow before adhering that layer to the card.

For the fish, I used the By The Sea stamp set and stamped the fish in Garden Green.  I then used a sponge dauber to rub some Rose Red ink on the bottom half of the fish.  Then I cut them out with my paper snips and put a few glue dots on the back of them and placed them in the water.

Overall, I think it came out nice.  It has a nice masculine look to it.
