Hi Stampers,

Wow, the last few weeks flown by for me!  It’s already time for a new color challenge at Pals Paper Arts.  The colors we were given this week are some of the outgoing in-colors Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe paired with Kraft. While these color are perfect for Easter, which is right around the corner, I wanted to try out this new flip fold I’ve seen all over Pinterest.

ppa246For this card, I started out with a card base 4.25″ x 11″.  I scored it at 4.25″ and 8.5″.  The bottom folds up and the top folds down.  I then embossed the 3.5″ top flap with the fancy fan textured embossing folder.  On the bottom part that folded up, I attached a 4″ x 4″ piece of Birthday Bash DSP.  On the opposite side of that bottom piece I attached a 4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock.

With the bottom part of the card open and the top flap folded down, I used the 2 1/2″ circle punch to cut 1/2 of the circle. I then used the 2 3/8″ scallop circle of Kraft DSP.  I then used the circle framelits to cut two smaller circles to fit inside of the Kraft scallop.  The first one in Crisp Cantaloupe card stock and sponged Crisp Cantaloupe ink on the edge.  I then stamped the saying from Lovely Amazing You in Crisp Cantaloupe ink onto Whisper White and used the next smaller circle to cut it out and layer onto the Crisp Cantaloupe circle. With the card fully closed the bottom flap with fill in the half circle cut out of the top, I used snail adhesive to attached the bottom of my scallop circle onto that piece.

I used the bracket label punch to punch out a label in Crisp Cantaloupe card stock and sponged the edges with Crisp Cantaloupe ink.  I punched the butterfly out of Pistachio Pudding card stock with the Elegant Butterfly punch and sponged the edges with Pistachio Pudding ink and put a few pearls in the middle of the butterfly and attached it to the label with a small piece of dimensional.

This label with butterfly is used as the closure of the card.  I aligned it on the front of the card with 1/2 overlaping the top flap of the card and two dimensional adhering it to the bottom part of the card.  I added an extra piece of the Birthday Bash DSP to the Whisper White medium envelope using the envelope liner framelits.  It’s a nice added touch.

All this sounds a bit confusing as I try to type it out, but it’s far to late at night to get more photos (bad lighting at night) and really needs a YouTube video.  So, make sure to sign up for the blog feed (on the side bar to the right) and/or facebook page to get notification of when I make that post with more directions soon.

In the mean time, enjoy the other creations on the Pals Paper Arts page.

Happy Stamping,
