Hi Stampers,

Any one who’s had toddlers, especially toddler boys can agree – they are messy!  That was the inspiration for today’s card.  This card is based on the Pals Paper Arts – PPA288 sketch challenge this week.  The circle in the middle made me think of the arch “Look Who’s Turning” stamp from the Number of Years stamp set.  Then I picked the number 3 – and that led me to the splats from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and here you have it – my messy card!

The arch led me to a bit larger circle, which means I needed a bit bigger card base.  This card base is Pacific Point card stock cut to 11″ x 5.5″, scored at 5.5″ – giving me a 5.5″ square card.  Next up was a 5 3/8″ layer of Whisper White onto which I stamped the splats from the Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Pacific Point ink.  I also cut out a 5.5″ x 1.75″ strip of Whisper White – that I also stamped the splats onto and cut the end with the Triple Banner punch.  I matted that with a 5.5″ x 2″ strip of Pacific Point card stock that I also punched with the Triple Banner punch.  I adhered this to the card base with snail adhesive, just a little to the left side of the card front.

For the focal point, I used a circle of Pacific Point card stock cut with the Circle framelits (#8 counting from the inside out) and then cut a circle of Whisper White card stock with the next size down (#7 counting from the inside out).  One of the benefits of the photopolymer stamps is that you can bend them a little.  While this stamp already had an arch to it, I was able to make it follow the arch on my Whisper White circle.  I then stamped the saying in Pacific Point ink and adhered the circles slightly to the right on the card front with snail adhesive.  The number three was cut from the Large Numbers framelit dies (that match the Number of Years stamp set). I popped the number three up with small pieces of dimensionals.

This card actually came together fairly quickly – I challenge you to pop over to Pals Paper Arts and play along with us by showing us what you come up with using the sketch!

Happy Stamping,
