Hi Stampers.  Today you get a two for one card.  I needed to do a card for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge today – since I’m a designer for them.  But, I also wanted to try out this new fold I found on Pinterest.  So I combined the two for this adorable Christmas card.

Stampin' Up! Fancy Fold Christmas card using Hang Your Stockings stamp set and matching framelits from the 2016 Holiday Catalog by Queen B Creations

This card starts out with a standard card base of 4.25″ x 11″, scored at 4.25″.  I then scored it diagonally across the front panel. Then I used a 5.25″ x 4″ piece of DSP and cut that diagonally in the same direction as the front of the card, then shaved a little off each piece on the cut line that I just cut, then adhered them to the card front.  This left the diagonal score line open to fold when opened.

In keeping with the sketch, I then used a 3.25″ x 4.25″ of Cherry Cobbler card stock and a 3″ x 4″ layer of Whisper White over that.  When I adhered it to the card front I made sure to only put adhesive on the lower panel, (again) so that it would open on the diagonal fold on the front of the card.  Next up was a .75″ x 4″ strip of Garden Green card stock and a .5″ x 4″ strip of DSP over that.  After I adhered the two together I used the triple banner punch to get the banner end on it.  (This makes the final strip less than 4″). I adhered the banner on the left side (top) of my card front. I then used a 1.5″ x 1.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock and sponged the edges with Garden Green ink and adhered that over the strip with snail adhesive. For the package, I used a 1″ x 1″ square of Whisper White card stock, make the “ribbon” strips with my Cherry Cobbler stampin’ marker and matted it with Garden Green card stock (trimmed by hand after adhered together to get a very small border) and then adhered that to the sponged square with a dimesional.  The bow was cut out of Cherry Cobbler card stock using the bow from the Christmas Stockings thinlit dies.  The stockings were stamped onto scrap Whisper White using the Stampin’ Up! Hang Your Stocking stamp set with Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler ink.  They were then cut out with the Christmas Stockings thinlit dies and adhered to the card front (the Garden Green with snail and the Cherry Cobbler with dimesionals).

Note: buy the Stampin’ Up! Hang Your Stockings stamp set and the Christmas Stockings thinlit dies as a bundle and save yourself 10%!

Stampin' Up! Fancy Fold Christmas card using Hang Your Stockings stamp set and matching framelits from the 2016 Holiday Catalog by Queen B CreationsThe interior of the card has a 4″ x 5.25″ layer of Whisper White.  I adhered the 1.25″ x 4″ strip of matching DSP to the bottom and covered the upper edge with .25″ Whisper White cotton ribbon.  I put a glue dot at either end of the ribbon and wrapped it around to adhere to the back of that layer and then adhered the layer into the card (this hides the ribbon edges and adhesive).  Next up was a the Merry Christmas sentiment.  I stamped this in Garden Green ink onto Whisper White card stock and cut it out with the Decorative Label punch sponged the edges in Garden Green ink. I adhered this to the inner right side of the card with dimensionals so that it would prop the card up when opened.

It’s a fun fold and I hope you give it a try.  I’ve supplied a list of all products used in this project, including links to my Stampin’ Up! store, below for your convenience. I should have a video on it soon to make the directions more clear.  Now pop on over to Pals Paper Arts and give our sketch a try!

Happy Stamping,
