Today is my (kinda) nieces 25th birthday.  She is the daughter of some good friends of ours and we have been known her most her life.  She and her brother and sister are like our bonus kids. There are many things I could embarrass her with – but I will be good and refrain. She is now a grown woman (a quarter of a century old) living in San Francisco with a college degree, a good job and a great life!  I’m so proud of her!  We love you Haley!!

While I may spend most days making cards – you may be surprised, but I’m TERRIBLE about getting them in the mail!  Maybe it’s because I’d much rather deliver it in person and see your face as you open it.  But, it’s definitely something I need to work on and get better at.  There is nothing like getting a hand made card in the mail.

For these cards – I was playing around with some of the Sweet Sorbet designer series paper that I got from Sale-a-Bration – I got ALOT of it! LOL

The card base is done in Pool Party cardstock I then attached some of the Pistachio Pudding ruffle ribbon to a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of DSP and tucked it around the back of that layer before attaching it to the card base.  The greeting is stamped with the Four Frames and Petite Pairs stamp sets onto Whisper White and punched out with the Designer Label punch.  I punched out a second label in Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and cut it down the middle and adhered it to the first label with a little hanging over each side as a matte.  The butterfly was punched out of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock with some Crisp Cantaloupe ink sponged around the edges.  There is a tiny piece of dimensional behind the butterfly body, allowing me to bend up the wings to make it look like it was flying.  No card is complete without a little bling – so there are some rhinestones down the body of the butterfly.

I hope you have an awesome birthday hay-bee!!!
