Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop Badge

Hi Stampers. As promised I’m back today with a blog hop.  I’m hopping with the Global Stamping Friends again.  This time we were given a color challenge.

We were challenged to use Night of Navy, Pool Party, Smokey Slate and Whisper White.  In honor of the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog release today, I chose to do a Christmas card.

Stampin' Up! Hang Your Stocking stamp set and Christmas Stocking Framelits were used to make this cute Christmas card by Queen B Creations

This card starts out with a night of Navy card base (8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″).  I then adhered a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Pool Party card stock.  Next I stamped one of the tiny designs from the hang your stocking stamp set randomly on a 5″ x 3.75″ layer of Smokey Slate in Smokey Slate ink (I was aiming to look like wall paper).

For the fireplace, I used a 4″ x 1.25″ strip of Whisper White card stock and ran it through my big shot with the bricks embossing folder that I had inked up with my sponge roller and a little bit of Crumb Cake ink.  The mantel was made using a 1.5″ x .5″ strip of Whisper White that I also inked up with the sponge roller and Crumb Cake ink.

I used the Christmas Stocking framelit dies with Whisper White and Night of Navy to make the adorable Christmas stocking.  I accented it by using Garden Green & Cherry Cobbler card stock and the holly and berries framelits from the same set.  The bough of greenery was make using a die from the Pretty Pines thinlet die set. (Note: I used two of them and over lapped them a bit for a fuller look.)

I hope my card inspires you to start considering what you will be making for Christmas cards this year. (Yes, I realize I’m saying that as I sit here avoiding the heat outside that is over 100 degrees!  But, hey, good time to enjoy air conditioning and shopping online.)  Did I mention the new Holiday Catalog is live now?  To see the PDF version of this catalog – CLICK HERE.  Go check it out!  You can shop in my online store 24/7 from anywhere with internet access. 🙂
