Hi Stampers. Today’s card is a (Painted Harvest) card-in-a-box wedding card I made almost a year ago. If you want measurements, etc, you can find the video tutorial on this prior post.
My husband and I attended a wedding last fall that had a sunflower theme. I decided to make the card to coordinate with the wedding theme.
This card starts with a Soft Suede card base (see video mentioned above for the measurements), followed by a layer of Crushed Curry.
The Painted Harvest stamp set was the perfect fit for the theme. To keep it country, I used Very Vanilla layers to stamp onto.
Gold stampin’ emboss powder and Versamark ink helped make the sentiments on each panel stand out. All of the Very Vanilla layers also had sunflowers (from the Painted Harvest stamp set) stamped in Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry ink. The center of each sunflower is stamped in Soft Suede ink wile the leaves were all stamped in Garden Green ink.
Inside the box are a Sunflower (stamped from the Painted Harvest stamp set and cut out using my Brother Scan-n-Cut) and leaves punched out using the leaf punch. There are also 3 balloons punched out using Soft Suede, Crushed Curry and Garden Green CS and the Balloon Bouquet punch. A gold gel pen was used to make the reflection on each balloon.
To represent the bride and groom, I used the heart punch. The bride heart is cut from Sparkle Glimmer Paper, with a few pearl basic jewels to make her necklace. For the Groom is punched from Very Vanilla CS, with a second heart cut in Soft Suede with a V cut from the front and glued over the Very Vanilla heart. This combination makes this heart look like a groom in a suit. Since it was a country wedding, I hand cut what is supposed to be a bolo tie and made shirt buttons using a Soft Suede Stampin’ Write marker.
I love card-in-a-box cards. They fold flat to put into an envelope, but then pop up to make a great display piece.
