Valentine’s Day Banner

Hi Stampers. Today I’d like to show you how to use your Stampin’ Up! Supplies to make holiday home decor.  I made this “Be Mine” Valentines Day banner.  This was super easy to make using the Be Mine Framelit Dies and the Large Letter Dies.Stampin' Up! Be Mine Stitched framelit dies and large letter framelit dies were used to make this Valentines Day home decor banner by Lisa An Bernard of Queen B Creations

Each panel of this banner is a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Smokey Slate CS. I marked the bottom center of one of the panels and went up a bit and made a dot with a pencil. Next, I used paper snips to cut from each bottom corner up to the dot.  Once I had the first one done, I just used it as a pattern to cut the rest of the panels.

I felt the Smoky Slate panels needed a little something, so I used the Sheet Music background stamp and Basic Gray ink to stamp each panel. A 3/4″ strip of Rose Glimmer paper across the top was added next.

I used the Be Mine Stitched Dies to die cut the hearts from Melon Mambo and Powder Pink CS.  For the letters I used the Large Letter Dies to cut them out of Melon Mambo CS. You can use either multipurpose liquid glue or the amazing multipurpose adhesive sheets on the CS before die cutting. (This basically makes them a sticker – no mess!).

I finished it off by punching a 1/4″ circle on either top corner and ran the 3/8″ Berry Burst Metallic Ribbon through the holes to string it up.  How cute is this?!?  I have made the following video tutorial to show you how easy it is!

Valentine’s Day Boozy Box

Hi Stampers.  Today I have a fun “Boozy Box” that was designed by fellow demo Erica Cerwin.  She shared how to do this last October using the Alpine Adventure bundle and the Festive Farmhouse plaid DSP.  I chose to change up her winter ski lodge style to a more Valentine’s Day theme.  I am thrilled with how it came out and gave away several of these as gifts.  The people I gave them to loved them!

Stampin' Up! Valentines Hot Chocolate Boozy Box By Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

For the base of this box, I used a piece of Blushing Bride CS 7-3/4″ x 11″. On the long side, I scored this at 1/2″, 2-1/4″, 4-1/4″ and 6″.   The short side was scored at 1-3/4″ and 6″. I used the Simply Scored score board because I felt that it gave me the most accurate measurements.  It can be done with the Stampin’ Trimmer, but you need to be careful on placement.

Next, I punched out a 1-3/8″ circle and two 1″ circles from scrap paper. I used these circles to figure out placement for the holes to hold the test tubes and the bottle. I attached them where I wanted them with a tad of snail adhesive and then punched over them. This is where the Hot Chocolate Mix, tiny Marshmallows and Baileys Irish Cream sample will be inserted.  (I purchased the test tubes at our local craft store in the jewelry bead department).

Next, I decorated the box. For the back, I cut a piece of Whisper White CS 4-1/8″ x 3″ and a piece of Tropical Escape DSP 4″ x 2-7/8″.  Then for the bottom front, I cut a piece of Whisper White CS 4-1/8″ x 1-7/8″ and a piece of Tropical Escape DSP 4″ x 1-3/4″.  I wrapped a piece of Whisper White 3/8″ Metallic Edge Ribbon around the bottom of the box and tied a bow on the right side of the front.

For the sentiments, I used the Forever Lovely stamp set.  The “Happy Valentines Day” is stamped on a strip of Whisper White CS using Blushing Bride ink.  That is layered on top of a strip of DSP and a strip of Blushing Bride CS.  All three layers were flagged on the end using the Banner Triple Punch.  The “Love You” is stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White CS and die cut out using the Layering Circles Dies. I also used the Layering Circles Dies to die cut the scalloped circle in Blushing Bride CS.  The white circle is adhered to the pink circle using a Stampin’ Dimensional. Glue dots were used to adhere both sentiment to the front of the box.  Just too cute!

Seasonal Layers Hanging Heart

Hi Stampers. Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and I have another quick and easy card.  I saw this somewhere online… I’ve been searching today and can’t find it again. So, I apologize to the demo who designed it, I can’t find your name to give you credit.  I just love this card.  I was watching TV with my husband one night and surfing the web (probably Pinterest) and saw it. During a commercial I ran downstairs to my studio and created it quickly.

Stampin' Up! Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies hanging heart in a tree Valentine's Day card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creawtions

The card starts with Smoky Slate card base – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. Next, is a 5-3/8″ x 4-18″ layer of Cherry Cobbler CS followed by a 5-1/4″ x 4″ layer of Whisper White CS. The Whisper White layer has been sponged with Balmy Blue ink with a stamping sponge.

The tree branch is die cut from Wood Textures DSP using a die from the Seasonal Layers thinlits dies. I used a heart die from the Be Mine Stitched framelits dies. To create the look of fallen snow, I used a pallete knife to adhere some Shimmery White Embossing Paste to the top of the heart.  It’s best to let the embossing paste dry several hours to dry completely before adhering to the card.

The branch was adhered to the card front using fine-tip liquid glue, I paced a small piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine behind the branch, so it looked like it was hanging from the tree. Next, I adhered the heart at the other end of the Whisper White Bakers Twine. I made a small bow from the Whisper White Bakers Twine and glued it to the center of the Bakers Twine between the branch and heart.

The inside of the card is lined with a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White CS. Onto that layer, I stamped the falling hearts and sentiments from the Forever Lovely stamp set.

I actually shared this card during my Facebook Live on my Facebook Page on December 31, 2018.  An edited version of this Facebook Live is on my YouTube channel. Here is the YouTube video:

Forever Lovely Sparkle Card

Hi Stampers.  Welcome to the Pals monthly blog hop. We’re so glad you’re here! January is all about making “Art from the Heart,” featuring projects for Valentines Day, Thinking of You, Get Well, or Sympathy. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Stampin' Up! Forever Lovely Sparkle and Shine Glimmer Paper card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I chose to create my card using the Forever Lovely bundle from the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Occasions Catalog. My Forever Lovely card starts with a Thick Whisper White card base – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. Next I added a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ layer of Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  Next, I cut another piece of Thick Whisper White CS 4″ x 5-1/4″.

Stampin’ Tip: If you haven’t ordered glimmer paper since the new catalog, you should!  They reformulated our glimmer paper last June and it is now easier to work with, it’s a little thinner (easier to die cut with) and doesn’t shed hardly any glitter!! I’ve always felt that Stampin’ Up! glimmer paper lost less glitter than what I could buy at the big box store. But, now it doesn’t shed hardly any – that’s just amazing!!!

Using the Lovely Flowers Edgelit Dies (part of the Forever Lovely bundle) I die cut the detailed floral edge on the 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Thick Whisper White CS twice.  Once very close to the top and then another one just below that.  I turned the die so that the cut portion both went into the card front (is that how to say that right?? See the photo to see what I mean).  I then used the single edgelt die to cut two pieces of the Rose Glimmer paper and adhered that behind the detailed cutouts using glue dots. I wrapped a six inch piece of Whisper White metallic edge ribbon around the bottom and adhered it to the back with glue dots.  Next, I made a small bow and attached it to the ribbon strip with glue dots. Then I adhered both of those pieces to the card front, over the Sparkle Glimmer Paper.

I lined the inside of the card with a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Sparkle Glimmer Paper. Since the middle was being covered up anyway, I cut a rectangle out of the middle so I can use that on another project. Next, I cut a piece of Whisper White CS 3-3/4″ x 5″ and used the little corner pieces to cut the tiny holes (see photo below) in the upper right and lower left corner. I cut 3/4″ x 3/4″ squares of glimmer paper and adhered those behind the holes with a glue dot.

In the center of the inside layer, I stamped the sentiment “Wishing you a lovely day” (from the Forever Lovely stamp set) in Blushing Bride ink.  This layer was attached to the Sparkle Glimmer Paper layer using snail and a few glue dots. (Note: I used the glue dots because glue dots seem to grip the glimmer paper better than snail adhesive).

Party Pandas Valentine Blog Hop

The-Remarkable-Inkbig-Blog-Hop

Hi Stampers.

The Party Pandas send their love and welcome you to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for January 2018. This month our theme is Valentines!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog or may have come from the person previous to me on the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

Stampin' Up! Party Pandas Sale-A-Bration 2018 Valentine Shaker card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I make my Valentine a shaker card!  I started with a Powder Pink card base – 11″ x 4-1/4″ , scored at 5-1/2″.  Next up is a 4″ x 5 1/3″ piece of Bundle of Love DSP.  The heart was cut from the middle using one of the heart framelits from the Sweet & Sassy framelit dies.  I then placed the DSP over the card base and used liquid glue to glue the heart down in place. Use clear accetate to cover the heart in the top shape. (Adhere from the back to hide the edges and adhesive.)

Next I used the foam adhesive strips to create the “well” to hold the dazzling diamonds glitter in place.  I used the foam adhesive strips around the outer edge as well.  (Note: don’t use Stampin’ dimensionals – they are not the same height.  Take it from one who knows… LOL). After the strips are in place, add the glitter.  Then remove the backing and carefully place the top layer over the card base.  I stamped the panda bear with the balloon.  and then placed a post it note over the panda and stamped the balloon two more times – so he had a set of 3 balloons. The “I love you” sentiment from the same set was then stamped inside each balloon

I stamped the little panda with the love not on the inside of the card.  To me a card is not “finished” until it has a little something on the inside.

From the Heart Blog Hop – Valentine’s Day Card

Stampin' Up! Stampin' Pretty Pals blog hop badge

Hi Stampers.

Welcome to the Pals January 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “From the Heart” featuring heartfelt projects like Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and Sympathy. Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

When I saw the theme – “from the heart”, I knew just the card to use!  This is a card I designed for my upcoming Valentine’s Day card class.  It’s a quick and easy card that would be great for a class of children or for a senior center card.  It’s so quick and easy!

handmade valentines card stampin up i heart u large letter and sweet and sassy framelits with epic celebraton stamp set from saleabration 2018 by Queen B Creations

This card starts with a Basic Black card base, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.  Next I attached a layer of Cherry Cobbler card stock that is 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″,  followed by a 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ layer of Whisper White CS.  I then used the Big Shot and the Large Letter Framelit dies to die cut the latter I and U from scraps of Basic Black CS.  The Sweet and Sassy framelit dies were used to cut the heart out of Red Glimmer Paper.  The letters were attached with glue dots and the heart was attached with stampin’ dimensionals.

For the interior of the card I used Momento Black ink and the new Epic Celebrations stamp set from the 2018 Sale-A-Bration brochure.  (You can own this set for FREE by placing a $50 order during Sale-A-Bration!) I used the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends Markers to color in the sneakers.  I have included a list of all supplies used below with links to purchase them from my online store.
