True Love Banner

Hi Stampers. Are you looking for a little holiday decor that won’t break the bank?  Have you thought about breaking out your papercrafting supplies and making a banner?  This adorable love banner uses the True Love DSP, the Heart Punch Pack and the Playful Alphabet Dies.

Stampin' Up! Playful Alphabet True Love Heart Punch Valentines Day love banner by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

For my love banner, I started with a sheet of Cherry Cobbler CS and cut it half both ways (portrait and landscape).  That gave me four pieces of CS 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Next, I cut four pieces of the True Love DSP 4″ x 5-1/4″.  To make the pennants, I flagged the end of each piece of CS and each piece of DSP.  You can see more about how to do that in my YouTube Video HERE.

The letters for my love banner were die cut out of Cherry Cobbler CS with Adhesive Sheet on the back (this made them sticker letters). Using the Heart Punch Pack, I punched four scalloped hearts out of Cherry Cobbler CS and four straight hearts out of Basic White CS. The letters were adhered to the Basic White hearts and those were adhered to the scalloped hearts using multipurpose liquid glue. Finally, the hearts are attached to the pennants using Stampin’ Dimensonals.

At the top of the pennants, I punched a hole on either side for the ribbon to go through.  For my love banner, I used up some retired Stampin’ Up! ribbon.

Snailed It Valentine

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop Badge

Hi Stampers.  Well, we did it…  We made it though 2020.  Can you believe that Valentines Day will be here soon?  On one hand the last year feels like a blur and on the other hand it feels like we “snailed it” through the year.  So, it only seemed appropriate to use the new Snailed It Bundle (part of the Snail Mail Suite) for my Valentine’s Day for today’s blog hop.

Stampin' Up! Snailed It Snail Mail Valentine Card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations IG

My card starts off with a Blushing Bride card base followed by a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of the Snailed It DSP.  Using the Triple Banner Punch, I then flagged the end of a 1/2″ strip of Basic White CS (approximately 5″ long) and then stamped the word “hello” near the flagged end. Also using the Triple Banner Punch, I flagged the end of a 3/4″ and 1″ strip of the Snailed It DSP (various patterns, approx  5-1/2″ long).

With Memento Black ink, I stamped the snail onto a scrap of Basic White CS and colored it with the Stampin’ Blends. Using the Snail Dies, I die cut the snail out, a few hearts out of Real Red CS and a postage square out of Blushing Bride CS. Next up, I adhered the strips with Stampin’ Seal and the postage stamp and hearts with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Inside the card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White onto which I stamped the hearts and mushrooms. I used my AWESOME Stampin’ Blends to color.  I’m thrilled with how it came out!

Stampin’ Up! does a FABULOUS job with co-ordination!  While alot (and I mean ALOT) of the products all coordinate, ocassionally Stampin’ Up! will bundle them together as a “suite”.  With a suite you can use one item number to order a set of products that are all designed to work together, giving you the best chance for success on making awesome projects!

Heartfelt Be Mine Grade School Valentines

Happy Valentine’s Day Stampers. Valentine’s Day is a great time to share a little love with others.  A few years ago, my ladies church group made alot of Valentines and donated them to the local Meals on Wheels.  The volunteers delivered a handmade valentine to each person getting a meal.  I hope it brought a smile to their face.

This year I volunteered to help make Valentine’s at a local Elementary School.  The school has an after school art program available to it’s students. I worked with a group of thirty 3rd to 5th graders.

This cards were my samples for them to follow.  The card pieces were precut and scored, so that they just had to stamp and assemble.  This was a great way to use up some retired DSP.

The kids LOVED it!!  Their cards of course had many more stamped images, LOL.  They gave me two adult parent volunteers to help – so one of them sat at a table in charge of all the ink and stamps.

The kids sat at the desks to punch out hearts, apply washi tape and decorate their cards and envelopes to their hearts content.

Each child made two Valentine’s Day cards. It was controlled chaos – but they all had a great time doing it! I was happy to go home to my quiet house knowing i had done a good deed and shared my love of stamping with the next generation.

Valentine’s Day Easel Card

Hi Stampers.  Wednesday I said I would be sharing another card similar to the one I posted then.  This card is made with the same supplies, just a different spin.

Stampin' Up! Meant to Be - Be Mine Valentine easel card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

First off this card is portrait orientation, where the other one was landscape.  Due to that I had to make the wording shorter, but it’s the same letters and the same heart for the O – from the Stitched Be Mine Dies.

Stampin' Up! Meant to Be - Be Mine Valentine easel card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

While this card folds flat and fits into the regular A2 envelope, this one props up for display.  They call this an easel fold.  The front of the card is scored in half and the front layers are only glued to the bottom of the card front.

Inside the card, the sentiment is stamped on and oval and backed with a scalloped over and then attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  This gives a “stop” for the card front to rest against, propping the card open for display.

The sentiment is a simple one from the Meant to Be stamp set.  Layering oval dies were used to make the ovals. Hopefully, this card will bring a smile and make them want to show it off.

Valentine’s Day Love

Hi Stampers. It’s my birthday tomorrow, which means Valentine’s day is quickly approaching!  I will  be helping a group of thirty 3rd to 5th graders make Valentine’s Day cards tomorrow.  It’s an after school program. I have pre-cut the pieces, plan to have them use glue sticks and kept the cards simple.  Wish me luck. 😛

Stampin' Up! Hand Lettered Prose Be Mine Valentine'd Day card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

This was a simple Valentine’s Day card on a Cherry Cobbler card base.  The From My Heart Specialty DSP is in the background.  A simple strip of Flirty Flamingo CS – cut with the edge die from the Stitched Be Mine Dies and a strip of Whisper White CS made the perfect backdrop for the word “LOVE”.

Stampin' Up! Hand Lettered Prose Be Mine Valentine'd Day card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

To spell out the word I cut the L, V, and E from Cherry Cobbler CS with the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies. For the O, I used the small heart from the Stitched Be Mine Dies. I happened to have some of the red Glitter Enamel Dots left over from the Holiday Catalog, so I added a few of those to the front.

The inside of the card was the only stamping done. Using the Meant To Be stamp set, I stamped the two hearts and the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink.  Come back Friday for a similar card done as an easel fancy fold card.

Meant To Be Valentine

Hi Stampers. Valentine’s Day is coming… Are you ready?  I just love Valentine’s Day!  My birthday is the 6th, so I love to celebrate from then until the 14th. One of my favorite grade school memories was about Valentine’s Day. I was bummed that Mom got flowers etc for Valentine’s Day and I didn’t.  My Dad was always a quiet guy – unless you got him mad – but that’s another story… That Valentine’s Day my Dad brought how a little African Violet plant just for me. I remember feeling so special! Do you have any fun memories of Valentine’s Day?

Today I have a cute little pairing for you.  A card and Tootsie Pop holder made using the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper, the Meant To Be stamp set and the Heart Punch pack. I just LOVE that our Designer Series Papers designed for holidays have the holiday on one side and something generic on the other side.  If I don’t use up all my DSP for a holiday – there is always the other side for a non-holiday card.

Stampin' Up! Meant to Be From My Heart DSP handmade card valentines day treat by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Isn’t this a cute little set?  I started with the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper. Choosing this paper gave me my color palette – Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo and Real Red. I then added the Meant to Be stamp set, because the small sentiments fit well into the heart I punched out of the DSP using the Scalloped Heart Punch from the new Heart Punch Pack. Another great thing about our DSP papers – they often have a design that can be punched or die cut out with the coordinating products!

Stampin' Up! Meant to Be From My Heart DSP handmade card valentines day treat by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

This card uses a Flirty Flamingo card base and a 2-1/4″ backing of Cherry Cobbler CS to go behind my 2″ strip of DSP.

Stampin' Up! Meant to Be From My Heart DSP handmade card valentines day treat by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

The heart was punched out of the DSP – the scalloped heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack fit perfectly.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Meant to Be stamp set into the middle of the heart (in Cherry Cobbler ink) and adhered it to my card front using stampin’ dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Meant to Be From My Heart DSP handmade card valentines day treat by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I stamped the sentiment and floral pieces using Cherry Cobbler ink onto a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White CS and adhered it to the inside of my card.

Just because we are now adults, doesn’t mean we can’t hand out Valentine’s to our friends (or even people we encounter while running errands – store clerk, bank teller, hairdresser – you get the idea).

Stampin' Up! Meant to Be From My Heart DSP handmade card valentines day treat by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

These are super easy to make out of a 2″ strip of CS and the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  I added a coordinating DSP heart to match the card and added the tootsie pop and some ribbon. (If you require further instruction – check out this video on my YouTube channel by clicking HERE).
