PPP Blog Hop My Wonderful Family

Hi Stampers.  It’s time for another Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop.  To be honest, this months kit didn’t thrill me until I started thinking of alternatives.  Then I got a few ideas and couldn’t pick just one.  So today I have three cards for you!

Stampin' Up! My Wonderful Family Paper Pumpkin May 2020 Alternatives by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

The original April 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit was OK.  It made some nice cards.  But, I think I’m really getting into this Paper Pumpkin alternative ideas thing!

Stampin' Up! My Wonderful Family Paper Pumpkin May 2020 Alternatives by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

My first thought was to turn that tree (from this months Paper Pumpkin kit) on it’s side and made it into a branch.  I used the 1-1/8″ scallop circle punch and made a birds nest to set the little birdie into.

Stampin' Up! My Wonderful Family Paper Pumpkin May 2020 Alternatives by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

For the inside of this card, I just used the tree top to stamp leaves in the two corners.  Nice and simple.

This one, I thought was kind of fun.  I made a hedgehog by stamping the tree leaves onto a circle of Crumb Cake CS in Soft Suede ink.  His face is the heart die from the Support Ribbon Dies. A little Soft Suede ink was sponged on the edges and two 1/4″ circles were used for his eyes. Stampin’ Up!s 1/2″ punch was used to make the feet and the leaf punch made his ears.  The grass under his feet is the tree trunk stamp, from the Paper Pumpkin kit, with Pear Pizzaz ink.

Inside the card, I used the tree trunk and leaves for their intended purposes and added the sentiment.

My third card uses the tree leaves again, only this time I used So Saffron, Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink inks to just create a background to frame the sentiment.

Inside is another sentiment and a touch of the leaves from the front. Again, nice and simple.  I hope you like my cards.  Use this next button to follow along on the hop for more inspiration from our talented team of demonstrators!

Hopefully, you are already subscribed.  The May Paper Pumpkin will feature some of the new 2020-2022 In-Colors and has already sold out!   What does this mean?

  • Anyone who completed a new subscription or who was in active status before kits sold out will still receive a kit.
  • Current subscribers can still log in and manage their accounts; however, they will NOT be able to add additional kits to their May subscription.
  • Subscribers in canceled or suspended status will still be able to reactivate their subscription but will be activated for the JUNE subscription period; meaning they will not receive the May kit.

PPP Blog Hop No Matter The Weather Alternatives

Hi Stampers. Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop for March.  Today we are all creating alternatives for the No Mater The Weather Paper Pumpkin kit.  This month kit was faboulous!  We got an additional stamp set because it’s Paper Pumpkin’s 7th birthday!

I chose to make a card and a tootsie pop holder.  This was a very cheery kit, but my alternatives are a little less than cheery. LOL  We’ve all been quarantined and I worked on taxes today… Hence the Basic Gray base. LOL

My card:

I chose to use the door as the focal point of my card.  It’s stamped in Memento Black ink, colored with the Watercolor Pencils and blended using the Blender Pen. The door started out being not nearly dark enough, so I dipped the tip of the Real Red watercolor pencil into a drop of water a few times and went over it again.  Much better!

Stampin' Up! No Matter The Weather paper Pumpkin Alternatives by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

The background the large cloud and rain stamped in Smokey Slate ink.  Don’t you love those scalloped and stitched rectangles?  Those are from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I used the blue flag and the circle (sponged with some Balmy Blue ink) from the kit and stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue ink.  A few Pretty Peacock Rhinestones finished it off.

Stampin' Up! No Matter The Weather paper Pumpkin Alternatives by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Inside the card, I continued the rain theme by stamping the clouds and rain across the top and the boots at the bottom right.  The sentiment and the pattern on the boots were stamped in Balmy Blue ink.  The adorable bunny and the tiny heart (covering a boo boo) are from the paper pumpkin kit.

My Tootsie Pop Holder:

Stampin' Up! No Matter The Weather paper Pumpkin Alternatives by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

The tootsie pop holder is made using a 2″ strip of Basic Gray CS and the Delightful Day Tag Topper Punch.  The flowers and boots are from the paper pumpkin kit.  They were already colored, so it made it quick and easy.

Inside there is a Tootsie Pop and I held it closed with a few glue dots and then made a pretty little bow with some of the twine from the kit.  I plan to give them to a neighbor as encouragement that there are indeed “brighter days ahead”.

PPP Blog Hop Lovely Day Alternatives

Hi Stampers. Today we are sharing with you, alternative ideas for the February 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit – Lovely Day. It’s a beautiful kit and it coordinates with the “Happy Birthday To You” Sale-A-Bration item – FREE with a $50 order!

Stampin' Up! February 2020 Lovely Day Paper Pumpkin alternatives birthday card and hershey kiss tent by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

For my projects, I created a card and a Hershey Kisses tent using supplies from the Lovely Day Paper Pumpkin Kit and a few supplies from my stash..

Birthday Card:

Stampin' Up! February 2020 Lovely Day Paper Pumpkin alternatives birthday card and hershey kiss tent by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

The card is made using a thick Whisper White card base.  I then cut one of the card bases down to 4″ x 5-1/2″ to make a layer for the card and then adding a layer of Petal Pink.  The Petal Pink scalloped square was die cut using the So Sentimental Dies.

The flowers in this kit a beautiful!  I used one of them on this card and added the sentiment by using more parts from the kit.

Inside the card I have a mix of stamps from the kit and the Happy Birthday to You stamp set – stamped in Rococo Rose ink.

Hershey Kisses Tent:

I cut one of the card bases to 4″ x 5-1/2″ and scored it at 1-1/2″, 2-1/2″ and 4″ for the Hershey Kisses tent.  The Hershey Kisses are placed on the 1″ section and adhered with glue dots.

The middle here is another section I cut from a card base – it already had the pennants on it.  The birthday cake slice was stamped onto Whisper White card stock using Pool Party ink and fussy cut.

I colored the cake using Stampin’ Blends.  I was happy with how it all came together so quickly.

Hi Stampers. Today we are sharing with you, alternative ideas for the October 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit – Winter Woods.  It’s a beautiful kit and next month coordinates with it!

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Winter Woods October 2019 alternative by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

The original design was almost too pretty to make alternatives, so I made it very similar, but a fancy fold easel card.

My card props up for display – since it is so pretty, it can be a Christmas decoration as well as a card!

The label with the sentiment on it, is popped up on dimensionals to hold the card open.

I love how the front has the 3D effect with those trees.  I saved the negative of the trees, there is plenty of room in the middle to die cut more things out of that gorgeous shimmer white!

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop – Gift of Fall

Hi Stampers.  Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities August 2019 Blog Hop.  We are here to give you alternate ideas for your Gift of Fall paper pumpkin kit.  I made my alternatives by also using the super cool “add-on” pack that you could get this month.

I used the gift bag that came in the kit and added a strip of Crushed Curry CS down the middle of the bag and then layered the paper pumpkin parts over the top.  I stamped the tag with a sentiment from the Paper Pumpkin set in Early Espresso ink.

I then added a bow using the 5/8″ burlap ribbon and used the tissue from the paper pumpkin kit on the inside of the bag.

Stampin' Up! August 2019 Gift of FAll paper pumpkin alternatives by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

For the card, I used a Merry Merlot card base – 11″ x 4-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″. Next, I cut off 2-3/4″ of the card front and decorated it using the back of one of the cards (the Crumb Cake and one of the tags cut to a rectangle).

The top of the card from the kit was cut down to 2-1/2″ x 4″ and adhered to the left side of the card front. A leftover strop 3/4″ x 4″ from that card was adhered to a 5-1/4″ x 4″ layer of Whisper White for the interior of the card.

For the focal point on the front, I used a Merry Merlot stitched circle from the kit and cut a slightly smaller Whisper White circle on top of that.  One of the velum leaves was added to the center of the white circle and they were all put on the card front using stampin’ dimensionals.

I used Crushed Curry ink and the “happy thanksgiving” stamp from the kit to finish the interior of the card.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop

Hi Stampers.

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop! We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and want to share with you our enthusiasm for this box of fun and creativity. The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild. On this hop we will be sharing lots of ideas with you on how to use this March Paper Pumpkin kit: May Good Things Grow.

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin July 2019 paper pumpkin possibilities alternative ideas blog hop by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations
For July, we were given a beautiful kit to work with that coordinates with existing product from our Annual Catalog.  I chose to work with the nautical portion of this kit and add a pizza box and the stamp set, High Tide to make it a little something different.
Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin July 2019 paper pumpkin possibilities alternative ideas blog hop by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations
I used the card base that came in the kit and added a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Mossy Meadow CS and a 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ piece of Whisper White CS.  I started by cutting a large circle out of a scrap piece of CS using the Layering Circles dies and sponged Calypso Coral ink and Pumpkin Pie ink to create a large sun.
Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin July 2019 paper pumpkin possibilities alternative ideas blog hop by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations
Next, I used the High Tide stamp set to stamp the water waves using Seaside Spray ink.  Over the stamped waves, I sponged some Pumpkin Pie ink and Calypso Coral ink to create the sun reflection down the middle at an angle. Seaside Spray ink was then sponged on either side of the reflection.
Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin July 2019 paper pumpkin possibilities alternative ideas blog hop by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations
The sailboat is from the kit and is attached to the card front using mini stampin’ dimensionals. The birds from the High Tide stamp set were stamped in the upper right corner in Basic Gray ink.
Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin July 2019 paper pumpkin possibilities alternative ideas blog hop by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations
On the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment from the kit in Basic Gray ink and the seashell (also from the kit) in Sahara Sand ink.  I love how this card came out!
Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin July 2019 paper pumpkin possibilities alternative ideas blog hop by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations
To coordinate with the card, I decorated on of the Stampin’ Up! Pizza boxes. All the pieces used in the decorating of the box were from the kit. I cut up one of the card bases, the solid mossy meadow color was on the back side of the card base and the stripes were on the front.  The sentiment was stamped onto the strip (from the kit) in Night of Navy ink and attached with stampin’ dimensionals. The linen thread and the wheel were tucked behind the sentiment.
As you see here – and will see throughout the rest of the hop, there are many possibilities with this adorable kit!
