Spring Has Sprung – Wobble Card

Hi Stampers.

Welcome to the Pals’ March Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because ”Spring has Sprung” – at least on our blog hop if not outside! Our Design Team created beautiful projects to inspire you. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

When they announced that this blog hop would be called “Spring has Sprung”, the idea of a wobble card (on a spring) sounded perfect!  This little jumping frog from the 2019 Sale-A-Bration level 1 options looks like he should wobble.

I started this card with a Mossy Meadow card base, 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. The word hooray from the Stampin’ Up! Well Written thinlits dies were used on the big shot to cut the words out of Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Pear Pizazz card stock.  On the Big Shot, the Cala lillies were cut out of Old Olive CS using the Catch of the Day thinlits dies.

The frog, from So Hoppy Together (a level 1 Sale-A-Bration item), was stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White CS using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I colored him using the Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Duo and cut him out using the paper snips. (If you were one of the lucky ones who got the coordinating Hop It Framelit dies before they sold out – you can use those.)

The spring was created by wrapping a 26 gauge wire around a paintbrush (or pencil, or straw, anything that size) leaving a 1/2″ straight piece at each end of the “spring”.  Attach one end of the “spring” to the back of the frog using tape and attach the other end to the card front using tape. Now it’s a “wobble card”!

For the inside of the card I used a piece of Whisper White CS, 4″ x 5-1/4″.  I stamped the frog, crown and butterfly from the So Hoppy Together stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The frog was colored with Old Olive Stampin’ Blends duo, the crown was colored with the dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and the butterfly was colored with the Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends duo. The sentiment, from the Well Said stamp set was also stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I used the Tropical Escape DSP to decorate the flap on a Whisper White Medium Envelope. It came out super cute.  I hope you give it a try! Next in this post, I have included a video of how I made this card.  It was one of my Facebook Live posts from my Facebook page. Each Monday at 2:30pm I go live on my Facebook page.  You should join me!  If you don’t do Facebook, you can find those videos (edited) uploaded to my YouTube Channel.  Please subscribe and click the bell for notification to be notified each time a new video is uploaded.

Geared Up Garage

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop Badge

Hi Stampers. Welcome to another Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This time we are showcasing projects made using new products from the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Occasions Catalog and the 2019 Sale-a-bration brochure. For my card, I chose to use the Geared Up Garage set.  I can’t tell you how excited I was to spot this set in the new catalog.

Stampin' Up! Geared Up Garage Best Dad handmade card made by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

My card started with a pacific Point card base, 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. Next, I made good use of the coordinating Classic Garage Designer Series Paper stack.  I cut the red piece to 5-1/4″ x 4″ and make two flags out of two other pieces in the stack. The piece with the steering wheels was cut to 3″ x 4″ and I flagged it with the paper snips. I used the banner triple banner punch to flag the gray piece, cut to 1-1/2″ x 4″.

Using the largest circle in the Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies, I cut a circle out of Whisper White CS.  I then stamped the oil spills and nuts in Basic Gray ink.  Using the Best Dad stamp and Real Red ink, I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White CS. The emblem die from the Garage Gears Thinlit set was used to cut out the sentiment and another one in Silver Foil paper.  I inserted the sentiment into the emblem and attached both to the circle using glue dots.  All pieces were then attached to the card front using liquid glue.

The inside of the card is lined with a 5-14″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White CS with a 1″ x 4″ strip of DSP on the right side.  I stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink and adhered this layer to the inside of the card with liquid glue.

Snowflake Showcase Blog Hop

Hi Stampers. Thank you for stopping by my blog on today’s blog hop featuring the limited release Snowflake Showcase!  During the month of November only – Stampin’ Up! is featuring some new limited release products. We are here to show you all the ways these great new products can be used!

Stampin' Up! Snowflake Showcase special for November 2018 Limited Release products

The Snowflake Showcase features TWO new stamp sets and a fantastic new set of framelits that work with BOTH stamp sets! In addition to that, there are some cute snowflake embellishments and some fabulous Whisper White velvet paper!  What’s not to love????

Stampin' Up! Snowflake Showcase Snow is Glistening stamp set Christmas card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

For my card I’m choosing to use a new fold I recently discovered.  It’s a great way to use our gorgeous Designer Series Papers!  This card starts with a Merry Merlot card base that is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.  The Joyous Noel DSP layer is 8″ x 4″, scored at 4″ and 2″ and folded in an “N”.

The top of the card has a 3″ x 4 1/4″ layer of Merry Merlot CS and 2 3/4″ x 4″ Very Vanilla CS. Onto the Very Vanilla layer, I stamped the tree in Shaded Spruce ink and the trunk in Soft Suede ink. (Note: the tree stamp is taller than shown, I just inked the top part of the tree and not the bottom, making it shorter).

I rubbed the Very Vanilla layer withe my embossing buddy (to prevent powder from sticking where I didn’t want it). Then I stamped the snowflakes with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with copper embossing powder – this made them match the DSP I used. Some shimmery embossing paste under the tree gives the look of snow and some rhinestones (colored with Stampin’ Blends or Sharpie markers) give the look of ornaments.

The inside of the card has the same size CS inserts.  (Merry Merlot CS – 3″ x 4 1/4″ and Very Vanilla CS – 2 3/4″ x 4″). I stamped the sentiment and falling snowflakes onto the Very Vanilla layer with Merry Merlot ink using the hinge method of stamping on my Stamparatus. The falling snowflakes stamp was designed to work with the Stamparatus for perfect placement to continue a row of these without a space or overlapping – how awesome is that!?!?

Here is a photo giving you an idea of how the card opens. I just love how it came out and I hope you do too!
