Good Morning Magnolia Spring Scrapbook Layout

Hi Stampers. Recently, I’ve decided to get back to something I love that I haven’t done in a while – scrapbooking.  Stampin’ Up! makes fabulous products that work wonderfully for scrapbook layouts. For this Springtime layout, I used a new stamp set from the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog – Good Morning Magnolia.

I created this beautiful spring layout using the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper.  This made it easy to choose what other colors to use.  I just looked at the back of the pack of DSP and used the coordinating colors listed on there.  This meant I started out designing on two pieces of Early Espresso 12″ x 12″ cardstock. I partnered that with So Saffron, Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow CS.

I used several strips of the Magnolia Lane DSP that were flagged on the ends using the triple banner punch. For the title “Spring”, I used the large letter framelit dies. These are fabulous for scrapbooking!

I cut out the word “spring” twice and layered the two colors on top of each other to give it some depth. If you are a scrapbooker and don’t own these yet, you want to pop on over to my online store and buy these Large Letter Dies before they retire at the end of the month.

These gorgeous Magnolia flowers were stamped in Memento black ink using the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set. I colored them using the stampin’ blends markers and die cut them using the coordinating Magnolia Memory Dies.

The butterfly is die cut from the Butterfly Beauty Dies.  I used just a portion of the large group of butterflies. Hobby Lobby had their 12″ x 12″ photo frames on sale for $5 each. I bought them so I could frame the layout and hang it on the studio wall. It was a layout too pretty not to frame.

Stamping Your Way To The Top

Hi Stampers. I have some beautiful cards to share with you today.  These are cards I made for my new team members to welcome them to my Creative Royalty team.  They made a wonderful choice when they joined the Stampin’ Up! Family! You can join as a hobby or a business demonstrator. It’s easy, risk free and has low quarterly minimums. Demonstrators enjoy at least a 20% discount on their purchases, still qualify for hostess rewards and meet some of their best friends though our community. You can read a little more about it on my blog  HERE.

This card started out with a Coastal Cabana card base – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. The next layer is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White CS.  This gorgeous Designer Series Paper is some I had leftover that I earned for FREE during Sale-a-bration. The butterflies punched out of the DSP perfectly using the new Butterfly Duet punch. I adhered a 4″ x 3″ piece of this DSP to the bottom half of the layer. On the top edge of the DSP I adhered a 4″ x 3/4″ strip of Gorgeous Grape CS followed by a 4″ x 1/2″ strip of Daffodil Delight CS. I stamped the greeting “Stamping, It’s the Best Job Ever” in Gorgeous Grape ink  To finish of the front layer, I adhered two of the butterflies with glue dots and trimmed the off from the back side and then adhered the layer to the card base using snail adhesive.

The inside of the card has a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Whisper White CS. Before adhering the layer to the inside of the card, I added a few butterflies to the layer with them hanging off the edge and trimmed off the excess with my paper snips. I stamped the “Welcome to the team!” sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink. Wouldn’t you love to get one of these in the mail?

Tombow Liquid Glue Holder

Hi Stampers.  Do you love Tombow liquid glue but not not that it gets harder to use as the bottle gets closer to empty?  This small holder works great for keeping the bottles upright so the glue stays at the small end of the tube!  It’s easy to make one.  I give some written directions in this post, but I encourage you to watch my video below to see me make it.

Stampin' Up! Tombow Liquid Glue Holder by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I started with a 8-1/2″ x 7-3/4″ piece of Blackberry Bliss CS. On the long size I scored at 1/2″, 2-1/2″, 4-1/2″ and 6-1/2″.  The short side was scored at 1-1/2″ and 6-1/4″.  I then used my paper snips to cut in from the sides along the score line, up to the crossing score line to create the flaps and cut off the small 1/2″ parts and wedged the flaps (see video). Be sure to burnish all the score lines with a bone folder. Before assembling the box, I used the smallest scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Dies to cut 3 circles (over the top of the circles that were placed on my CS – see tip below).

Stampin’ Tip: I used the one inch circle punch to cut 3 circles from scraps of CS and placed them on the CS where I want the holes to be cut and attached them with a bit of snail adhesive. This allows me to place them evenly and be sure the holes will be in the right spots before cutting them.

You can choose to round the corners with the detailed trio punch before assembling the box.  I used tear and tape adhesive to connect the long side of the box and Tombow liquid glue to secure the end flaps. To pretty it up, I used some Designer Series Paper 4-5/8″ x 1-7/8″ on the front of the box. I hope this project helps solve a frustration in your craft room – remember crafting is supposed to be STRESS FREE!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  Please take a moment to leave me a comment below.  I love to hear from you!

Nautical Beach Wedding Card in a Box

Hi Stampers. I love making fancy cards. My customers prefer the simple, but every so often I just need to make something more.  That need to create more complex cards is what started my Etsy store. The most popular items in my Etsy store are my “card in a box” cards. I was recently asked to make a card in a box for a beach wedding.  I created the Tropical Beach Wedding card that was used in my Pals Blog Hop blog post last week.  You can see that post here.  Turns out, the beach is in Cape May, NJ – beautiful beach town, but not exactly tropical. So, I created this card.

I’ve done card-in-a-box cards often.  You can find the video tutorial on this prior post. This card in a box starts with a Seaside Spray (a 2019-2021 in-color) card base, followed by Sahara Sand CS and then Whisper White CS. I stamped onto the Whisper White CS.

I cut waves out of some scrap Seaside Spray CS and used some 2-way glue and dazzling diamond glitter on the tips of the waves and attached them to the cross members first. The sentiments are from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and are stamped in Night of Navy ink.  The anchors are from the new Sailing Home stamp set and are stamped in Basic Gray.  The ropes are from the same set and are stamped in Crumb Cake ink.  The sailboats are also from the Sailing Home stamp set and are stamped in Seaside Spray and Night of Navy inks and are die cut with the coordinating dies.

Stampin' Up! Sailing Home bundleDo you like the new Sailing Away stamp set and Smooth Sailing dies?
They will be available for purchase when the new 2019-2020 annual Stampin’ Up! catalog goes live on June 4th.
You can save 10% by buying these together as a bundle.

I created the lighthouse to look like the actual lighthouse in Cape May.  It is red on top with white on the bottom. I used the lighthouse from the High Tide stamp set.  I stamped the first stamp (the one with the detail for the top) using Smoky Slate ink.  Then I used the second stamp (the solid part), I inked up just the top in Cherry Cobbler ink and stamped it onto the lighthouse. For the bottom, I stamped in Versamark ink and used White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and melted with the heat tool.

The bride and groom hearts are cut out of Basic Black CS, Whisper White CS and Sparkle Glimmer Paper using the hearts from the Be Mine Dies. Using paper snips I cut the two sides off of the Whisper White heart and glued it onto the Basic Black heart to create the dress shirt. I used the Cookie Cuter Builder Punch to cut the bow tie from Basic Black CS and used a sponge dauber to put a little Whisper White ink to the edges of the bow tie to make it pop. I used my Take Your Pick tool to add pearl accents to the Sparkle Glimmer paper heart. These are attached to each other and to the front of the card box with mini glue dots.

For around the bottom of the card-in-a-box I used the High Tide stamp set to create a beach scene. I used Sahara Sand ink for the sand, Seaside Spray ink for the water (stamped the lines and used sponge dauber over them), a stamping sponge wedge was used to sponge Seaside Spray ink for the sky. The sun is stamped in Mango Melody ink, the birds in Smoky Slate ink and the grass in the sand in Old Olive ink. On the back of the card, I stamped the lighthouse and the flying birds from the new Sailing Home stamp set in Basic Gray ink. This time the customer was thrilled.  I hope you are, too.  Let me know what you think in the comments below.
